Cascade
A cascade from a plant that appears to be a member of the banana family. I presume this is the fruit and wish I knew its name. There it was, swinging gently in the breeze, at the pretty Square Etats-Unis which is a small public garden surrounded by high buildings and used, in summer, for concerts.

It is beautiful. It looks like a woman brushing or washing her long hair.
I would look closer at the plant. It looks like the flower spike of a palm. I don't think it is open yet so you might drop by in a couple of weeks to see if it opens to a white/yellowish spray of small flowers. The palm family is quite large so I'm not certain which one it might be.
But I would look more at the trunk and check to see if the leaves we see are from a different plant next to it. The leaves do look like a banana but their flowers are very different.

Unseen Rajasthan, I looked up the tree you mentioned but the tree itself is quite different - unless as Marta suggests the fruit is coming from another tree (your tree) but it appears to be from a tree with a banana-like leaf.
Marta, a very good idea to go back and take a look in a week or so - first to check it really is from a banana-like tree and secondly to see how it has developed. I'll do that! Thanks to both of you so much for suggestions.
